An ex-naval officer that has spent the last 30 years in public education. Has held positions of athletics director, science,/history teacher, director of alternative education, and junior high and high school principal. Came to LYSD in August , 2006 and served as principal at Alakanuk School. During the 2006-07 school year Alakanuk achieved AYP. Has held his current position as Director of Federal Programs since July of 2007.
Job Description
*Design and develop grant proposals and budgets in consultation with the site principals, district office staff, and approved by the Regional PAC/NEC
*Monitor grant activites and budgets to ensure compliance with state and federal regulating agenciies
* Project Manager for the PAC/NEC committee
* Project Manager for the recruitment and documentation of students that qualify for Migrant Education services
*Provide reports and documents for federal programs as required by federal, state and district policies
