The Hooper Bay K-12 School is founded upon thermal piles.  The building consists of 13 elementary classrooms, a science/art classroom, 14 high school classrooms, a home economics classroom, science classroom/ damp lab, library,  and vocational education classroom, a gymnasium with regulation size basketball area and assorted support spaces.   The building is located on Tomaganak Hill which is a shallow rise at approximately 25 feet above sea level.  District housing consisting of two eight-unit apartment buildings and 2 four-unit apartment buildings is just a short walking distance from the school.
